Aaand ... Here are the last festivals, Winter Festivals. Hope you'll like it!

Winter Festival

Dog Race

Day: Winter 10th

Time: 10.00 am

Location: Town Square

You can choose to join the competition or just come and watch :) If you want to join, make sure that your dog's heart level is at its highest, and don't forget to train your dog months before! Fall is the least season where you can start to train him :) Use the ball from Won, and never throw it to the pond or your basket. Believe me. I did it :(

When you win this, you'll get a medal. The gifts in the festival are the same like in the Horse Race. Here are some tips in winning the Dog Race:

a. Run with the same speed as your dog with the distant maximum 1 inch in front of it.

b. If it runs to the wrong direction, walk close to him and start again.

c. If it doesn't like you enough or you never trained it before, then it would be likely to disobey and just sit around :( But you can always try next year :)

Winter Thanksgiving (Valentine's Day)

Day: Winter 14th

Time: 06.00 am

Location: Your Farm

Every girl that likes you will give you a gift. If you want a chocolate then you'll need to change their hearts to blue. If they have different color, you'll get different gifts. To get all of the gifts, stay in your farm all day. Do not go anywhere. Just walk out your door and stay in your farm, you can clean the field or play with your dog. It's best not to enter any room for the day. If you come to the girls, they won't give you anything.

Star Night Festival

Day: Winter 24th

Time: 06.00 pm

Location: House of the girl who likes you

The girl who likes you the most will ask you to join the dinner with her parents. Don't be late! ;)

New Years Party

Day:  Winter 30th

Time: 12.00 am

Location: top of Mother's Hill

You can come to Mother's Hill from 10.00 pm if you want to chat with some villagers first :) And you will watch the sunrise together with all the other villagers. Happy New Year!

Fall Festivals

The Music Festival

Day: Fall 3rd

Time: 06.00 pm

Location: Church

On 2nd of Fall Carter will ask you to play an instrument in the festival. If you say yes, he'll like you more :) You need to get there on time or you'd be locked outside and Carter would be disappointed if you do that :( You'll sit and listen to some tunes, and the villagers will ask Karen to sing like an opera singer. spoiler at the end of the tunes you'll hear a crashing window and a bird, flying away from the place. Thanks to Karen's voice :p

Harvest Festival

Day: Fall 9th

Time: 10.00 am

Location: Town Square

In this festival every villagers will bring one item to add inside the giant pot. It doesn't really matter if you don't bring anything, but it's best to add an egg. People will like you more if you do :) But if you add strange things to the pot such as Poisonous Mushroom the villagers will talk about the strange taste of the soup.

Moon Viewing Day

Day: Fall 13th

Time: 06.00 pm

Location: Top of Mount Moon

This is the night where you can spend some time with the girl you like while looking at the full bright moon :) It's so romantic <3 :d=":d" and="and" but="but" can="can" check="check" do="do" doesn="doesn" for="for" great="great" heart="heart" her="her" it="it" level.="level." much="much" nbsp="nbsp" out="out" p="p" really="really" s="s" sadly="sadly" t="t" the="the" view="view" you="you">

Sheep Festival

Day: Fall 21st

Time: 10.00 am

Location: Yodel Ranch

When you have a sheep with fully grown wool, you can enter the competition. Just make sure that the sheep is not pregnant and not shaved :) The winning sheep will produce a Golden Wool. Yaaay!

Hi there! :D I just finished the Summer Festivals, hope you enjoy it! ;)

Summer Festivals

Swimming Festival

Day: Summer 1st

Time: 10.00 am

Location: Beach

This one is my favorite, you can get a power berry if you got a first place. And here's the how to:

a. Collect at least two power berry before you enter the competition

b. Press X until the color of your face is changing and then press and hold the triangle button. 

c. There are 5 contestants in the competition, without power berry you'd usually got a third place.

Oh, and try to talk with the girl you like. It's great to change the color of her heart :)

Chicken Festival

Day: Summer 7th

Time: 10.00 am

Location: Town Square

You can come and just watch the festival or you can even join the competition if you have a chicken.

It's best to give the chicken who has the highest heart level, it increases the chance for you to win :) And the winning chicken will lay golden eggs everyday, which is great for your incomes. Yaaay ;)

Here's the quick tips:

a. Quickly press X when your enemy--call it your chicken's enemy--just jumped

b. Do not press the X button if your chicken is in the edge of the arena or is facing the outer side of the arena

Tomato Festival

Day: Summer 12th

Time: 10.00 am

Location: Town Square

Come to the town square and every team will ask you to join them. You don't really get anything from Tomato Festival, but it's just fun to play for a day! :) And just like other festivals, all the stores are closed on that day, so if you have any schedules for buying some chicken feed or anything, don't forget to check your calendar before going out!

Cow Festival

Day: Summer 20th

Time: 10.00 am

Location: Town Square

You can enter your cow in this competition, and the winning cow does the same like a winning chicken, it will produce a golden milk! Just make sure its heart level is in it's highest, and you'll win it at no time! Don't forget to buy a brush from Saibara months before the competition :) You'll need that to speed up the heart level

The Fireworks Display

Day: Summer 24th

Time: 06.00 pm

Location: Beach

In the night of The Fireworks Display, you can watch it with a girl you like. She needs to have at least a purple heart for you. If you take her to the fireworks, she'll like you more. There's a chance that she might ask you on a date after the show, which is great ;)

It's also okay if you want to come to the show alone, and in the second year you can ask Kai to watch it together.

I just read a very good comment yesterday and promised to write about Harvest Moon Back to Nature - Festivals including all of the dates and tips. Let's start, shall we? ;)

Spring Festival

New Year

Day: Spring 1st

Time: 06.00 pm

Location: Inn or Town Square

In your first year you won't be able to celebrate New Year cause you're too busy with the farm. However, starting from the second year, you can celebrate it with the elders or with your peers :) The elders can be found in the Inn from 7.00 pm, while your peers will hang out in the Town Square. It is best to join the people who doesn't really like you, by joining the party, they will start to like you :)

Goddess Festival

Day: Spring 8th

Time: 10.00 am

Location: Town Square

There are two ways to enjoy this festival: alone or with a girl.

If you want to go alone, then you can just come after 10.00 am to the Town Square. Don't be too early cause the Mayor will stop you from entering the place, nor too late cause people would be likely to hate you.

If you have changed a girl's heart to purple before 6th of Spring, then you can ask her to accompany you to the Goddess Festival. Ask her on 7th of Spring, if she says yes, you'll come to the festival with her. spoiler After the festival, she'll ask you to accompany her to someplace quiet. 

Thanksgiving Festival

Day: Spring 14th

Time: all day long

Location: everywhere

The point of this festival is to raise heart quickly and easier. You can give flowers to the girl you like and her heart will change faster than any other days :) If you already have a kitchen, you can bake some cookies and share it with the villagers.

 Horse Race

Day: Spring 18th

Time: 10.00 am

Location: Town Square

You wouldn't be able to enter the Horse Race with your horse in the first year, however, you can join the bid an win a Power Berry which cost approximately 1001 medals. And you can always socialize with the villagers for better score ;)

Cooking Festival

Day: Spring 22th

Time: 10.00 am

Location: Town Square

In this festival the villagers will compete for the best food in the village. If you submit a Relaxation Tea, there will be an 80% chance of winning

Harvest Moon A Wonderful Life - Saving Money

I just love polling, it gives me the accurate decision of which tips to write, because the result of the polling comes straight from you! :) So let's talk about saving money in Harvest Moon A Wonderful Life, shall we?


Here are some great random tips to save your money, especially in the first year/chapter when you need to achieve so many things:

1. Ride your horse to save the time--time is money! :p
2. No need to waste your items to win a girl's heart, just pick one girl you like, give her flowers for a week straight, and then leave her be. At the end of year/chapter one she'll come to your house and she'll tell you her feelings :)
3. Never forget the fertilizer. Unless you're willing to buy 200 G good fodder from Takakura. Oh, and try to get the fertilizer maker from Takakura (check the shipping room). It's cheaper for the long run.
4. Always keep your animal outside unless it's raining, this way you can save the fodder.
5. Train your dog or own a refrigerator to stop Murray the burglar from stealing your food in the freezer food storage.
6. Befriend the villagers, for example, Daryl. He'll make you save 6,000 G by giving you a seed maker.
7. Go fishing in your spare time, sell your fish to the villagers or Van.

Sweet Surprise

comes when you least expect it :) I just checked my writings over a year ago in Wikihow, you can still read at the post I made back then, click here. Harvest Moon Back to Nature - Baby

The second most favorite topic in Harvest Moon Back to Nature after marriage is baby ^^ And the good thing in nurturing a baby inside your home is because you'll gain a great percentage from him, which will be important for your final score :) haha. You can check your percentage anytime by opening the Start menu.


Now, if you're married to one of the five potential girls in the village, which could be Elli, Mary, Karen, Popuri, or Ann, it's time to have a baby! And here is the how to:

Give a gift for her for 30 days straight.

While you would still have a baby even if you're not doing this, but the action will speed up the event. And after that, your wife will start to act a little bit strange by telling you that she feels sick in the morning. There are two ways to react:

1. Ignore the news, keep doing whatever you are doing but stay away from the clinic. The one day around 11 pm your wife will say that she lost a lot energy, and wake up the next day telling you that she's pregnant.
2. Go to the clinic and find the doctor. 

Personally, I chose the second way, it sounds more gentleman :p Anyway, you'll have to wait for 58 days, around 2 seasons. There is nothing you can do for your wife, really, so what I did was working and working knowing that a little baby is on his way! :)


Baby Phase
There are 3 phases in your baby's life, 

1. Infant. No one can touch the baby except his mother. He has the heart meter but you can't raise it yet. 
2. Crawling. This will happen after a year, you can touch and pick him up, this is the perfect time to raise his heart meter. You can tell that he's crawling by looking at his gesture and the costume he's wearing--a blue delicate one.
3. Walking-Talking. This will happen around 3 seasons after the crawling phase, the fun thing to do is to watch him talking (you can't really listen since Harvest Moon Back to Nature doesn't include voices to the characters :p) 

Additional Tips and Trivia:

1. You can only have one baby. 
2. The baby heart meter influences your percentage, so make sure it always goes up.
3. Your baby will never be a grown up person, and the rumor which says that the baby will eventually grow up and take care of the farm is a false story.
4. Spoiler. After a long long long time he will say 'Daddy', which is cute :)

Harvest Moon A Wonderful Life - Cow and Milking Room

First of all, thanks to Foster and Anonymous for the question, I realized both of you wrote the same question and because of you guys, I'm thinking of writing the tips about cow and her milking room so that all of the Harvest Moon fans can read it! :) Here it is ...



If you're having a problem with your cow and the milking room (read: you can't push her to get to the milking room) then there are certain things that you need to check:

1. Make sure that you're pushing a cow, not a bull.
2. Make sure that she's in a healthy shape
3. Make sure that she's not pregnant
4. Make sure that she had given a birth before, unless she's the first cow that Takakura gave to you at the beginning of Harvest Moon A Wonderful Life
5. Make sure that you're pushing her to the right door.

I'm having trouble with photos of the milking room, but can you see the door next to that green board? That's not the right door, the right door is on the right side of that door, right across the fodder box (the silver thing on the left). The right door is located behind the tool shed.
